Lauderdale Springs Causalities

Jarrett L. Cotton
Company H, 10th Tennessee Calvary.

Recently a researcher contacted the Lauderdale County MSGHN webmaster to report an error in transcription on the Lauderdale Springs Causality List.  Please note the following:

It is believed that the entry for J. L. Colton should actually read J. L. Cotton.  Cotton was from Shady Grove, Tennessee.  He served in DeMoss' 10th Tennessee Calvary. PVT Cotton joined the Confederate forces in Linden, Perry County, Tennessee along with his brothers, Jesse V. Cotton and King Marion Cotton.

J. L. (Jarrett) Cotton was born about 1840, the youngest son of Jared and Dorcas (Mobley) Cotton, in Hickman County, Tennessee in the Shady Grove community.

It is the policy of the Lauderdale County MSGHN web site not to change the actual listing information which was extracted from the National Archives.  However, it is also noted that the listing contains a great many transcription errors.  It is hoped that the additional information offered above will assist you with your research.
