The Magee Family Heritage

Relatives of CPT T. D. Magee Serving Under the Confederate Flag.

When the Civil War broke out, and in some cases even before, there was a great outpouring of pride in the heritage of the old south.  Gentlemen, farmers and tradesmen alike lined up by the hundreds at points around the south where Confederate companies were being organized, to defend that heritage, the southern way of life.

T. D. Magee was no exception, organizing a company of infantry and marching out of Williamsburg, Mississippi to face the enemy.  Many families gave their all -- their homes, their fathers, sons and brothers to the war effort.  In this too, the Magee family was no exception.  The Magees turned out en masse to answer the call to arms.  Listed below are the names of the many Magees and their relatives who responded to defend the south.  Certainly no other family was as well represented as this one.
