The Lauderdale Rifles
Roster beginning 10 May 1862
The roster below is
actually the second "mustering-in" or a reactivation of the
company. The first activation occurred on or about 12
January 1861. This original staffing of Company F, was in
response to Mississippi Governor Pettus' order for a number of militia
companies to organize and form a battalion to respond to a
threat in the vicinity of Pensacola, Florida. That mission
having been deferred, on 4 February 1861, the regiment was
decommissioned. Company F, the Lauderdale Rifles,
disbanded and went home.
The unit roster
below is of those who would report, with the Company F
Commander, CPT Constantine Rea, to the trenches at Vicksburg.
