The Lauderdale Rifles

Roster beginning 10 May 1862

The roster below is actually the second "mustering-in" or a reactivation of the company.  The first activation occurred on or about 12 January 1861.  This original staffing of Company F, was in response to Mississippi Governor Pettus' order for a number of militia companies to organize and form a battalion to respond to a threat in the vicinity of Pensacola, Florida.  That mission having been deferred, on 4 February 1861, the regiment was decommissioned.  Company F, the Lauderdale Rifles, disbanded and went home.

The unit roster below is of those who would report, with the Company F Commander, CPT Constantine Rea, to the trenches at Vicksburg.
